Ralph J. Henneman, P.E.
Chairman Emeritus
When Mr. Henneman founded our firm in 1961,
he envisioned a company that would provide
engineering solutions responsive to
clients’ needs in an innovative, cost
effective, and professional manner.
Forty-seven years later, the Henneman team of
professionals still shares his vision.
Today, Mr. Henneman serves as Chairman
Emeritus of Henneman Engineering, Inc.
Mr. Henneman, a 1949 graduate of the
University of Illinois’ Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE),
has 57 years of experience as an electrical
engineer, mentor, and leader. In 1996, he
received the University of Illinois’
Distinguished Alumnus Award, and in 1994, he
was presented with the Marcia Peterman Award
in recognition of dedicated service to ECE.
Mr. Henneman is a former president of the
ECE Board. Prior to establishing our
firm, Mr. Henneman held engineering
positions with Holabird and Root Architects
and Engineers in Chicago and with the
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
As an electrical engineer for the University
of Illinois Physical Plant Department
(1950-1957) and University of Illinois
Architects Office (1957-1960), he was
responsible for many of the University’s
in-house construction and maintenance
programs. Mr. Henneman was an adjunct
professor of general engineering at the
University of Illinois from 1969 to 1977
where he taught senior design engineering
classes with special emphasis on design
problem solutions. In 2005, Mr. Henneman was
appointed as a member of the University of
Illinois Foundation.

Michael
J. Henneman, P.E.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Michael, a member
of the Henneman Engineering team since 1971, became a principal of the
firm in 1977. He holds both a bachelor's degree in electrical
engineering and master of business administration degree from the
University of Illinois. Henneman is a registered professional
engineer in the states of Illinois, Texas, Missouri, Arizona, Wisconsin
and Indiana. Henneman is also a founder of Royal Properties, a real
estate development company which develops, owns and operates residential
apartment projects in Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, Arizona, Tennessee, and
Texas. Additionally, Henneman is managing partner of HRBR Design
Build, LLC, an affiliate of Henneman Engineering, and HWS Energy Partners,
LLC, an energy service provider. |

Joseph
B. Summers, P.E.
President
Joe has more than 30 years of electrical engineering experience for both
the public sector and private industries. Summers earned a Bachelor
of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1969, and
he is a registered professional engineer in the states of Illinois,
Indiana, and Florida. Summers was co-founder of S&R Engineering,
Inc. of Urbana, Illinois, which merged with Henneman in 1996. Summers is also a founder and partner of HWS Energy Partners, L.L.C., an
energy services firm that develops distributed power plants and provides
energy services for clients throughout the Midwest. He received a
National Certificate of Merit Award from Energy User News for energy
efficient designs in commercial buildings. |

Herman
W. Lehr
Chief Financial Officer
Herman earned a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of
Illinois at Chicago and a master's degree in business administration from
Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Lehr has
over 25 years of experience in the financial and business administration
areas. Prior to joining Henneman Engineering, he was a senior
manager in Program Finance at Northrop Grumman Corporation where he was
responsible for financial program control on a variety of electronic
technology contracts. As chief financial officer at Henneman
Engineering, Herman oversees accounts payable and receivable, payroll,
cash flow management, financial policies and planning. |

Karen
K. Rogers, CPSM
Vice President of Business Development
Karen
has more than 20 years of experience as a principal and marketing
professional with national and international engineering and architectural
design firms. Rogers achieved the designation of Certified
Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) in 1993 and was one of the first
professionals in the country to be certified by the Society for Marketing
Professional Services (SMPS). She has been an active member of SMPS
since 1983. Prior to joining Henneman, Rogers was Vice President,
Corporate Director of Marketing for Huitt-Zollars, Inc., an ENR Top 200
Design Firm based in Dallas, Texas. As Vice President of Business
Development, Karen focuses on client development, marketing, and
communications. |

Walter
E. Shain, LFACHE
Vice President of Business Development
Walt has more than
14 years of experience in healthcare marketing and 20 years in healthcare
executive management. A seasoned professional, he focuses
on healthcare and higher education client development and service
nationwide. Shain received a Masters in Hospital Administration from
the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado
State University. Shain is a Life Fellow of the American College of
Healthcare Executives. His work experience includes positions as Vice
President of Hospital Building and Equipment Corporation (HBE) in St.
Louis, Missouri, and Director of Business Development for Marshall Erdman
and Associates in Madison, Wisconsin. After retiring as Colonel from
the United States Army Medical Service Corps, Shain served in a variety of
healthcare management positions at hospitals in Oklahoma, West Virginia,
Kansas, New Mexico, and Minnesota. |

Thomas
W. Sutton
Vice President of Business Development
With nearly
30 years of business development experience, Tom has a talent for
building strong, productive partnerships by focusing on clients’
business interests to develop long-term relationships. Sutton specializes
in the development of healthcare and higher education projects on a
regional and national level. Sutton holds a Master of Science in
Business Management from Abilene Christian University and a Bachelor of
Science in Chemistry from Texas State University. Prior to joining
Henneman Engineering, Sutton was a sales executive in the Hospital Sales
Division of HBE Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri. His previous
experience includes management positions at Rehab Tech, Inc., a durable
medical equipment company, and Sunrise Medical, Inc., a manufacturer and
distributor of custom and standard patient aid equipment. |

G. Boland, P.E.
Vice President - Director Champaign Office
Paul has more
than 25 years of

Henneman Engineering since 1992. His
specialties include utilities, power plants, boiler design, process
layouts and piping design. Boland
has collaborated on many successful building systems projects for both new
construction and renovation for
government, healthcare, and higher education clients. He has led air quality and mold remediation projects in both
healthcare and higher education facilities. Boland is
a licensed professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
from the University of Illinois. |

B. Morrison, S.E.
Vice President of Structural Engineering
Scott
has
more than 25 years of experience in projects ranging from industrial
buildings to the design of education and commercial structures. He
has extensive knowledge and experience in structural design and investigation as a design
structural engineer and project manager. Morrison holds a Bachelor
of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master of Science in Civil
Engineering (Structures), both from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in the State
of Illinois and a registered Professional Engineer in Florida, Indiana,
Iowa, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. He is a member of the American
Concrete Institute (ACI), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC),
the Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), the National Society of
Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the Illinois Society of Professional
Engineers (ISPE). He is past President of the Illinois Society of

Jeffery

Senior Vice President - Director Chicago Office
Jeff
has over 25 years of engineering and management experience.
As a Senior Vice President and the Director of Henneman’s Chicago
Office, he is responsible for project performance, technical quality,
staff development and administration.
His diverse project experience ranges from small tenant engineering
projects to a lead management role in the massive $2.3 billion Chicago
Public Schools Capital Improvement Program.
Treiber received his bachelor’s degree in civil and structural
engineering from the University of Illinois in 1980 and a masters of science in
engineering mechanics/engineering management from the University of Santa
Clara in 1985. |

Mark
A. Blazis, P.E., LEED® AP
Vice President
Mark received his bachelors of science in mechanical engineering from the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1993 and a masters in
business administration from DePaul University in 2002. Mark joined
the firm in 1994 and specializes in district heating and cooling, health
care and higher education. He is a registered professional engineer
in the State of Illinois, a LEED 2.0 accredited professional, a
Registered Energy Professional in the City of Chicago and is a certified ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional.
In 2006, Mark won the ASHRAE Refrigeration Comfort Cooling Award for Project Excellence
for the University of Illinois West Campus Chiller Plant in Chicago. |

Senior Vice President - Director Dallas Office
Dave has more than 35 years of mechanical engineering experience and is a LEED accredited professional.
Dave has spent the majority of his career at Henneman Engineering and has directed many of the firm’s most noted projects.
He was instrumental in establishing the ISO 9000 Quality Program at Henneman Engineering.
Dave has been responsible for a variety of engineering projects including computer modeling, load calculation, HVAC, specialty piping, fire protection, and plumbing design for healthcare, laboratory, and educational research facilities.
He has written in-house training curriculum on project management, sustainable design, and the technical aspects of healthcare engineering.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
He is a registered professional engineer in Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Henneman Engineering in 1981, Dave worked as facilities engineer and construction project manager. |

She has performed quality mechanical engineering design for Henneman since
1993, while providing client advocacy and project management. She is
a registered professional engineer in Illinois and Wisconsin and worked in
the nuclear engineering consulting field before joining Henneman
Engineering. |

Jes, formerly president and
owner of Jaspal Engineering Services, Inc. of Madison, Wisconsin, joined
forces with Henneman Engineering, Inc. in 2000. Jaspal is a
registered professional engineer in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota,
Missouri, Ohio, New Jersey, and Nebraska. His 44 years of professional
engineering experience ensures clients that they will receive
state-of-the-art mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and
industrial services. He provides quality control on final drawings. |

Jim has been involved in all aspects of the construction industry including installation, sales, design, and management for over 25 years.
A native of the Milwaukee area, he started his electrical career working on numerous projects throughout this metropolitan area.
Jim joined Henneman Engineering, Inc. in 2002 and has served as designer and multi-disciplined project manager for many complex projects.
He is a registered electrical designer and master electrician with experience in healthcare, higher education, research and commercial projects.
Jim has an extensive background in electrical low voltage systems and is a BICSI Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) and has been a contributing author to several publications.
In addition, Jim has served as the ISO site quality coordinator for Wisconsin since Henneman Engineering became ISO certified in 2003. |

V.P and Deputy Division Manager for a consulting engineering/architectural firm, and also Associate

Director of Operations St. Louis Office
Eric has over 15 years of experience in the design and construction community.
His extensive background includes HVAC applications engineering and design, business modeling/development,
industrial process design, and sales and marketing, as well as extensive project management.
Brault also has consulting experience in plumbing and electrical engineering.
Brault has been involved with all major market sectors, and recently worked for a major design-build contractor as
Vice President of their Pharmaceutical Division. Brault graduated with honors from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in
Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Missouri and Illinois.
Brault has consistently maintained membership in several professional organizations and continues
to contribute to the St. Louis market as a representative of Henneman Engineering, Inc.
