Senior Mechanical Healthcare Engineer
Location: Chicago, Illinois

Description:
Henneman
currently has a position opportunity for a senior level mechanical healthcare engineer for our Chicago, Illinois office.
This person will serve as head healthcare engineer with full responsibility for
interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating healthcare engineering projects.
This person will also supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
Responsibilities:

Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of mechanical engineering to the functional area of healthcare.

Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, equipment and criteria.

Conceptualizes the
initial mechanical design approach for major phases of large facilities type projects, or has overall responsibility for the mechanical engineering work on a project of limited scope.

Knowledgeable in consulting/construction practices in Healthcare design to include plan/specifications, contract documents, estimates, design/build and construction manager roles and responsibilities.

Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates mechanical engineering work.

Also, supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies.

Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting
design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).

Serves as liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.

Participates in contract bidding and administration; observes project action on site.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer.
Experience:
10 – 20 years experience designing healthcare facilities including, but not limited to: Hospitals, Emergency Rooms, Outpatient facilities, Wellness Centers, Laboratories, etc.

Electrical Engineer
Location: Champaign, Illinois
Description: HEI currently has a position opportunity for a mid level electrical engineer for our Champaign, Illinois office. This person will be responsible for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas. This person will also use advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices in the electrical engineering field.
Responsibilities:
- Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of electrical engineering to the functional area of the assignment.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Conceptualizes the initial electrical design approach for all project types and has overall responsibility for the electrical engineering work.
- Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices to include plan/specifications, design/build and construction manager roles and responsibilities.
- Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates electrical engineering work.
- Supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies.
- Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).

- Reviews plans, prepares technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Also participates in contract bidding/administration; observes project construction on site.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
Experience: 3 to 5 years progressive work experience in electrical building services design.
