Cancer Center

Christie Clinic

Champaign, Illinois

The new single-story, 4,300-square-foot cancer treatment facility was modeled after the Mayo Clinic facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. The new facility, built on part of Christie Clinic\'s parking lot at the corner of University Avenue and Randolph Street in downtown Champaign, brings the most advanced cancer treatments to central Illinois.

The Cancer Center houses the Radiation Oncology Center, which uses the most advanced medical technology, including the linear accelerator simulator and a computerized planning system for treatment.  The new linear accelerator technology directly targets cancerous tissue and provides a more efficient dose of radiation to unhealthy tissue so patients experience fewer side effects and less damage to healthy tissue. The new center will also offer cancer screenings, cancer education and access to clinical trials.

Henneman Engineering provided all mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering, and plumbing/fire protection design for this comprehensive cancer treatment center.
