This state-of-the-art facility provides instructional and research laboratories for the University\'s School of Medicine and a consortium of state agencies.  The building includes animal holding facilities, BSL-3 super isolation and wet labs as well as office and conference space.  HVAC systems provide single-pass air with 95% efficient blended charcoal filtration for odor/contaminant removal in the laboratory areas.  Variable air volume supply and exhaust air systems and a glycol heat recovery system were used to reduce energy consumption.  All mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were designed for maximum adaptability.

Henneman Engineering was responsible for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, data, and fire protection design for the new building as well as interconnection to existing systems.
