High School of St. Thomas More

Catholic Diocese of Peoria, Illinois

Champaign, Illinois

With a growing need for new educational opportunities, the local Catholic community organized to build a new high school on a 40-acre site.  The building includes a full complement of academic, arts and athletic facilities, and the site was developed with playing fields and parking.

Designed to meet current needs with flexibility for future adaptation, the building is fully networked with a comprehensive and easily-upgraded technology infrastructure.  It has capacity for 400 students, with provision for the future construction of a theater and additional classrooms to serve a total of 600.  A central chapel and garden forms the heart of the school, emphasizing the balance of spiritual, social and academic aspects of Catholic education.

Henneman Engineering provided complete engineering services.  Beginning with general planning, budgeting and assistance with fundraising materials, work proceeded through detailed programming, design, cost analysis, documentation and construction administration.
