Infrastructure Improvements
Kirkwood School District R-7
Kirkwood, Missouri
Kirkwood, Missouri
Infrastructure and improvements were needed due to deteriorated pipes, obsolete parts, numerous leaks in stone foundations and tunnels, and demand exceeding capacity on many of the systems. Major repairs were needed for the domestic water lines, storm water lines, and sanitary lines.
Work consisted of providing design services for new and modified heating and cooling systems, fire protection, hot and cold water distribution systems, fire alarm, and modified electrical systems for all school buildings for the infrastructure and improvement projects. Fire protection systems needed to be brought up to current code, including sprinkler systems, and most of the work was performed during breaks and off-season to avoid classroom disruption. Henneman designed the new systems for four elementary schools and one middle school in the Kirkwood School District.
