MU Health Sciences Research and Education Center – Master Plan

The University of Missouri at Columbia prepared a Master Plan for a proposed Health Sciences Research Building adjacent to the existing Medical School and University Hospital.  The program included clinical space, translational, and basic research space, and was envisioned as a critical research link in the areas of cancer immunology, cardiovascular, diabetes, and neurosciences.  The Master Plan addressed the Medical School’s ten year goal of increasing research space from 70,000 to approximately 400,000 NASF.

The facility included major research, training and healthcare programs including:

 
The Schematic Design resulting from the Study included 170,000 GSF of wet research lab and support space, 45,000 GSF of clinical space, 37,000 GSF for educational facilities, and a 34,000 GSF vivarium.

Henneman Engineering provided program assessment for all building and infrastructure MEP systems and assessment services for the facility.
