New Football Stadium and Sports Facilities

The Southern Illinois University at Carbondale Athletics Facilities project includes a new 12,000 seat football stadium, an addition to Saluki Arena, a renovation of Saluki Arena, a renovation to Lingle Hall, and a relocation of the tennis courts and softball fields. The facilities will be a part of the Saluki Sports Park on the southeast corner of campus.

The open air football stadium will have a single seating bowl tier with a cross aisle, a north end berm seating area, and a press box to house press, club, and suite functions.

The arena addition will be the new home for the football and basketball teams. It will house the offices and locker rooms for each of these sports. The addition will also be home to new space for equipment and sports medicine components of the athletic departments. Additional restrooms and concessions will be added to the facility.

Henneman Engineering is providing full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and information technology design services.
